Mrs Mac Glinchey’s fifth class, 2023-2024, were honoured to participate in a Challenge to Change project. This project is run by the Presentation sisters and encourages global citizenship.
The children learned all about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and identified the top ten rights that they feel our school brings to life for them. They wrote and delivered a wonderful presentation on the UNCRC to 3rd to 6th classes during assembly.
As part of the project Catherine Murphy TD and James Lawless TD visited the children in their classroom to learn about their project and they also had an opportunity to ask them both questions about their careers and general issues that concerned them such as updating the equipment in Clane playground.
They also visited the Ombudsman for Children’s office in Dublin in June where they had an opportunity to learn about the work, they do behalf of children all over Ireland. We are very proud of all the hard work and enthusiasm they showed for this project.
You can read all about it in the commemorative booklet recently delivered to the school.
